Measurement & Verification

Measurement & Verification

We use a variety of metering and measurement equipment, including data loggers to analyze the performance of energy consuming equipment. M&V services include metering, data collection and model calibration.

Measurement & Verification Experience

We have past M&V experience working with the Toronto BOMA CDM incentive program and the Ontario saveONenergy retrofit program. The following is a brief summary of the associated M&V services provided to our clients:

  • As a CMVP, perform measurement and verification for variety of energy efficiency measures (ranging from simple lighting measures to complex control system measures) based on the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) and accepted engineering
  • Review energy savings calculations submitted by the project applicant, to ensure assumptions and calculations are appropriate for the proposed
  • Perform pre‐project and post‐project site inspections to ensure energy efficiency measures are installed and operating per the energy savings
  • Following the site visit(s), prepare a report for the client summarizing the energy efficiency measures installed and verified on‐site, including any discrepancies In the event of discrepancies, revise the energy savings calculations accordingly.
  • Following the site visit(s), complete the review by confirming the verified energy savings (which includes corrections and/or revised energy savings based on review findings and site visit observations).

We have also prepared M&V reports for their clients (both CDM program administrators and program applicants) that documents the approach, data collection, findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The M&V reports are typically drafted in accordance with the M&V requirements defined by the CDM program rules.
