With 25 years’ experience in power generation and distribution—and more than 15 years working with solar thermal and photovoltaic energy—Evna is at the industry’s leading edge for renewable-energy deployment. The company provides development consulting and design engineering services for installation of on- and off-grid facilities in Canada and abroad. Our portfolio includes solar electricity, solar thermal, small wind, small hydroelectric and bio-gas technologies. Since the launch of Ontario’s Renewable Energy Standard Offer program, Evna has consulted with several developers to build commercial and utility-scale solar generating facilities in excess of 100MW. Services include site evaluations, connection-approval supervision, engineering design, energy-production modelling, and construction supervision.

Evna designed the first commercial grid-connected photovoltaic power system in eastern-Ontario (A first for Parks Canada). We have designed and installed solar power systems for two remote schools in Argentina. The firm’s most significant project delivered the Stardale Solar Park; a 30MW solar development to a European developer in 2009.

Renewable Energy – Development

  • Stardale Solar Park, St-Eugene, Ontario. 30MW photovoltaic facility consisting of 3-10MW grid connections. Total project value over $160Million. Project delivered to European developer with full approvals in place early in the development stage. Project is a provincial renewable energy generator under the RESOP program.
  • Canadian Argentina Capacity Initiative – Missiones, Argentina. – Design and installation of solar power systems for two rural schools
  • Remote tourist lodges – Jasper National Park, Alberta – installation of a stand-alone photovoltaic power systems.
